This non-age-stated version was launched in 2016 as a permanent product showcasing the elegant style of Miyagikyo malts, following the discontinuation of all age-statements. This bottling features aromas of esters generated by carefully selected yeast strains, along with the distinctive influence of sherry casks.

Miyagikyo malts are described as elegant and fruity. Made with lightly malted barley, with or without peat, the whiskies, distilled in pot stills heated with indirect steam, express a distinctive fruitiness and a delicate mouthfeel.

DESCRIPCIÓN

Miyagikyo Single Malt is a range of single malt whiskies from the Miyagikyo distillery. Nikka founder Masataka Taketsuru chose a valley in Miyagi Prefecture for his second distillery, which began operations in 1969. His aim was to create a stark contrast between the two distilleries, Miyagikyo and Yoichi, with their different natural environments and production methods.
