The San Cristóbal vineyard covers an area of 1.2 ha and has the oldest vines (70 years old); in the Barrosso estate there are two vineyards, one of 2.5 ha with vines that are also old, 60 years old, and another younger one, of only 1 ha. The soils are clayey and with some lime, covered with stones.
Selective harvesting and subsequent sorting of the best grapes on the selection table in the winery. Meticulous microvinification and ageing in special barrels. During the process, the wine is not subjected to clarification or filtration in order to respect its qualities as much as possible. The years 1996, 2000, 2001 and 2003 were the first great Pingus vintages, until the extraordinary 2004, with which it received the first 100 points from critic Robert Parker. However, in general, all Pingus are great wines, marked by good intensity, fine, fatty, with great breadth in the mouth, good structure and ageing potential.
