Ron Bermudez Distillery

Sipsmith Independent Spirits

The tradition that began in 1852 continued under the guidance of José Armando Bermúdez Rochet, son of Erasmo, who with a holistic vision, great determination and deep effort created the formula for a refined rum, pleasing to the palate and unique in the world: the formula for Dominican Rum.

Years later, José Armando bought the name "La Sin Rival Fábrica de Licores" from his father, laying the foundations that would turn Dominican rum into a national industry with a presence in international markets.

The fourth, fifth, and sixth generations, respectively, took over the destiny of an industry that is in their blood, engraved in the hearts and preferences of Dominicans with indelible ink; who have continued with the same commitment, dedication, and love, sharing the passion for the art of creating an exquisite and well-cared-for Rum for the Dominican Republic and the world.

This is the story behind the first Dominican rum, a story intertwined with the very essence of Dominican identity. As the song says: “This is my country, these are its people, its rum is Bermúdez, its rhythm is merengue.”
