For over 180 years, The Dalmore has established the foundation of the multi-cavity maturation process. Expertly selected casks from the world's finest wineries and vineyards are used to create a sumptuous and complex whisky of legendary finesse.
In 1839, The Dalmore distillery was founded by Alexander Matheson, an adventurous merchant determined to create an exceptional single malt whisky. In 1867, descendants of the Mackenzie clan took control of the distillery. One of their first changes was to adorn each bottle of The Dalmore with the stag emblem, a guarantee of unparalleled quality.
The distillery's unique collection of stills creates a distinctive, robust, and fruity New Make Spirit, specially designed for longer, more complex maturation. This allows our makers to ensure that every cask of our spirit reaches its full potential.
Richard Paterson, a pioneer in the art of maturing in the finest casks, was the creative force behind The Dalmore for nearly five decades. He paved the way for our current Master Whisky Maker, Gregg Glass, who continues an unbroken line of visionary whisky makers, always pushing the boundaries to mature our spirit in the most exclusive casks.

The Dalmore distillery is currently closed to the public. A new experience will open in 2026.
