The values ​​of Havana Club are embodied by the Masters of Cuban Rum, a lineage passed down from generation to generation. Inspired by the late Don José Navarro, 'The Master of all Masters', this tradition includes various Masters, from First Master to Aspirant, celebrating Cuba's first female Master.

Master Asbel Morales runs the Havana Club distillery in San Jose, ensuring the use of the finest Cuban ingredients while continuing the transmission of knowledge established by Don Jose Navarro, creator of Havana Club Añejo 7 Años, the very essence of Cuban rum, whose legacy continues to inspire craftsmanship today.

The process of crafting our exceptional rum begins with the careful selection of the finest molasses from various regions of Cuba, chosen for their rich flavor and aromatic qualities. Once obtained, the molasses is distilled to create aguardiente, the starting point for crafting a variety of rums, each with unique characteristics derived from its ingredients and distillation process.

At Havana Club, our selection of barrels is essential to creating the unique character of our rum. We use young white oak barrels to develop subtle vanilla notes in our younger rums, while extra-old barrels allow the spirit to rest and gain complexity.

All our rum bases are aged in these casks, creating distinctive flavors and richness. For our oldest reserves, we select the oldest casks to ensure depth and character in every sip, thanks to the wisdom of our Master Blenders.

Our Master Blenders collectively oversee the development of our rums in the cellars, ensuring proper aging and guiding the evolution and selection of our spirits. Our mastery of aging begins with the selection of the finest casks from Ireland and Scotland, brought to San José, where Master Blender Asbel directs and supervises our rums to rest in Cuba's ideal conditions, following our tradition of continuous aging.

This careful process allows blending to take place over successive periods, ensuring the development of the perfect profile for each of our signature rums, true to the fine and elegant style of Havana Club.

The Cuban Rum Master selects the base rums for their intrinsic qualities to create the desired final product. By blending different rums, the Master enhances the refined character of our rum, and some portions are returned to the barrel to shape future productions and ensure its continuity over time.
