Laphroaig Select is inspired by Ian Hunter, one of the most important distillers in the distillery's long history. Ian was the last member of the family that owned the distillery and also the one who discovered, on a trip to Bourbon, USA, new American oak barrels that would bring new flavors and greater consistency to the whiskies produced by the distillery.
