Neudorf Tom's Block Moutere Pinot Noir 2023 is a red wine made from organically grown Pinot Noir grapes from the clay soils of the Moutere Valley in Nelson, New Zealand.
The grapes are hand-harvested and fermented with native yeasts, then the wine is aged for approximately 10 months in French oak barrels, 20 percent of which are new, allowing a delicate integration of the wood without obscuring the varietal character or the freshness of the wine.
This wine is intended for early enjoyment but can also evolve positively over the next few years. It is ideal to accompany dishes such as grilled duck, mushroom risotto, spiced white meats, or even vegetarian dishes with a smoky touch.
Unlike the Neudorf Home Block Moutere Pinot Noir 2021, which comes from the oldest and most exclusive plot of the estate with vines planted in 1978, Tom's Block represents a more accessible and fresh selection with a focus on the young and pure expression of Pinot Noir. While Home Block offers greater complexity, structure and aging potential, Tom's Block focuses on immediate elegance and fruit finesse.
