Blended Whisky

Blend significa mezcla, es decir, que el producto final es el resultante de mezclar diferentes productos. Pero en el whisky no hay una única norma para definir Blend.

Un Whisky Blend es cuando hablamos de whiskies producidos mezclando líquidos provenientes de distintas destilerías. Pueden ser todos whiskies de malta con los que obtenemos un blended malt o de distintos granos como maíz, trigo o avena, con lo que simplemente le llamamos Blended whiskey.

El 80% del volumen que se exporta de los blended del mundo provienen de Escocia.

La mayoría de whiskies mezclados no indican una edad, en caso contrario todos los whiskies que forman parte de la mezcla han de ser, al menos, tan viejos como la edad que se indica.
