DESCRIPCIÓN
The PEGASUS BAY Pinot Noir 2022 It is a sophisticated and authentic expression of the Waipara Valley terroir in the North Canterbury region of New Zealand. Crafted by the family-run Pegasus Bay winery, widely recognized for its artisanal approach and commitment to quality, this Pinot Noir faithfully reflects the unique vineyard conditions and the winemaker's minimalist approach.
The 2022 vintage benefited from a balanced growing season, with moderate temperatures and a late harvest that allowed for prolonged ripening and a complex development of aromatic and phenolic compounds. The grapes come primarily from vines over 30 years old, cultivated without irrigation and with naturally low yields, resulting in a remarkable concentration and depth in the final wine.
The wine was vinified using spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts, and a significant proportion of whole clusters were included in the fermentation to contribute structure and complexity. Subsequently, the wine was aged for an extended period in French oak barrels (some new), where the tannins softened and the different components of the wine integrated without losing its varietal or terroir identity.
PEGASUS BAY Pinot Noir 2022 represents a classic approach, but with a modern interpretation of New Zealand Pinot Noir. Its structure, balance, and aging potential position it as one of the most outstanding examples of the variety in the Southern Hemisphere. The winery considers it a wine with great aging potential, capable of evolving elegantly for more than a decade under appropriate storage conditions.
MARIDAJE
CATA
