Absolut takes responsibility for the entire production process, from seed to bottle. For a better world and a better vodka.

Our production philosophy is summed up as “one source”, meaning that the entire process takes place in and around the small town of Åhus, Sweden. All of the ingredients in Absolut Vodka are sourced from the region of southern Sweden. Every drop of water and every grain of wheat comes from the same source, the same village and the same community. This philosophy is known as “one source” and is the reason why Absolut always maintains its highest level of quality, in every corner of the world.

Making the world’s best vodka is a holistic journey that connects with our Swedish vodka-making tradition and our commitment to our own source and community. Having “one source” and “one community” allows us to respectfully control the entire process from seed to bottle. This means you can trace every bottle back to a group of farmers.

A complex process:
The distillery and production process set up and run by our talented team of people is reflected in the flavour and aroma of our vodka. The fact that the distillery was designed and is currently run by our own team is a differentiating factor that makes it one of the most energy-efficient in the world. The yeast we use for fermentation comes from our own strain. It is like a seal that gives our vodka a unique flavour. We then distill and improve our drink hundreds of times to give it its own personality, famous throughout the world.
