It was July 1863 when Alessandro Martini, Teofilo Sola, and Luigi Rossi founded Martini & Rossi in Turin, then the capital of the newly formed Kingdom of Italy. A few months later, they chose Pessione, a small village not far from the city, to establish their production plant. Thus began the story of MARTINI, one of the world's most famous Italian brands, which has grown through hard work, vision, quality, and innovative communication campaigns.
In 1929, an icon was born. Martini and Rossi restructured as a global corporation, and a cohesive brand image began with the introduction of the "Ball and Bar" logo, which was trademarked.
In 1968, MARTINI took a major leap in sports sponsorships with the birth of the MARTINI racing team, initially focusing on endurance racing and Formula 1. This was a turning point, as Martini and Rossi became more than just a sponsor: they actively partnered with a number of teams, influencing strategies and operations, and introducing a more modern, hands-on approach to sponsorships.
