El origen de la bodega Marqués de Murrieta es también el origen del Rioja. Don Luciano Murrieta, aplicando las técnicas aprendidas en Burdeos, elaboró el primer vino de Rioja en 1852, con la intención de perdurar en el tiempo.

En el Castillo de Ygay,  los materiales nobles y las últimas tecnologías se funden en una perfecta unión, convirtiendo el edificio industrial más antiguo de Europa en un referente de modernidad y equilibrio. 

Desde 1983, la Familia Cebrián-Sagarriga se encuentra al frente de Marqués de Murrieta Estates & Wines

El gran proyecto de renovación de Marqués de Murrieta, se completa con la inauguración en 2021 de la nueva zona de elaboración, construidos junto al Castillo de Ygay.

Los vinos nacen en nuestra Finca Ygay, un viñedo de 300 hectáreas, ubicado al sur de Rioja Alta.

The origin of the Marqués de Murrieta winery is also the origin of Rioja itself. Don Luciano Murrieta, applying techniques he had learned in Bordeaux, produced the first Rioja wine in 1852, with the intention of creating a lasting legacy.

At Ygay Castle, fine materials and the latest technologies merge in perfect harmony, transforming Europe's oldest industrial building into a benchmark of modernity and balance.

Since 1983, the Cebrián-Sagarriga Family has been at the helm of Marqués de Murrieta Estates & Wines.

The major renovation project of Marqués de Murrieta is completed with the opening in 2021 of the new production area, built next to the Castle of Ygay.

The wines are born in our Finca Ygay, a 300-hectare vineyard, located south of Rioja Alta.
