Aromas intensos y complejos que combinan fruta negra madura (ciruela, mora) con notas especiadas, balsámicas y toques de monte bajo. Se perciben sutiles matices de cacao, tabaco y tierra húmeda, procedentes de su crianza en roble francés.
Entrada amable y sedosa, con taninos finos y bien integrados. Destaca por su equilibrio entre frescura y estructura, con una acidez viva que alarga el paso por boca. Final persistente, con recuerdos minerales y ligeramente ahumados.
DESCRIPCIÓN
Mas Vilella Negre 2020 is an authentic expression of the terroir of La Bisbal del Penedès, crafted in a restored 16th-century farmhouse converted into a winery by winemaker Albert Jané. This wine comes exclusively from the Mas Vilella estate, where traditional and adapted varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Sumoll are cultivated under certified organic farming conditions.
The estate, situated on a gentle slope 220 meters above sea level, is surrounded by Mediterranean forests and clay-loam soils with limestone. The climate is dry, with significant temperature variations between day and night, allowing for a slow and balanced ripening of the grapes. The vineyards are worked by hand with the utmost respect for the environment, without herbicides or systemic products, following principles of sustainability and minimal intervention.
The grapes are harvested by hand in small crates, selecting only the healthiest bunches. After spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts, the wine is aged for 14 months in large, used French oak barrels and then rests in the bottle before being released to the market. The entire process takes place on the estate itself, in underground tanks and spaces where tradition and modernity coexist.
Mas Vilella Negre 2020 is not just a wine, but the result of a winemaking philosophy centered on origin, identity, and respect for the land. With a limited and numbered production, it represents a commitment to honest wines, rooted in the landscape and capable of telling the story of the place where they are born.
