Heir to a privileged vineyard in one of the most exclusive areas of the Ribera del Duero, Bodega Matarromera is dedicated to producing red wines—Gran Reserva, Reserva, and Crianza—and a white wine, all with distinct personality and excellence. Their wines are the result of the perfect synergy between nature's creative genius and one man's unwavering commitment to reviving family tradition and preserving a legacy.
The materials possess their own expressive qualities: the local stone and humble brick connect us to tradition and a deep connection to the environment; galvanized steel and oak unmistakably transport us to the patient world of wine; and finally, concrete speaks of strength, tenacity, and permanence. The different spaces are not treated as mere places; they are spaces that speak to us, spaces that are felt, spaces that are lived in, and that are deeply imbued with the authenticity of Matarromera. Innovation and differentiation are provided by the artistic installations developed in certain areas of the complex. The "Varietal Garden," with its pathways of light that lead us to the four cultivated varieties. The "Balcony Plaza," with its small breakwaters from which to contemplate the sea of vineyards. The staircase leading to the upper floor of the wine tourism module with its mural depicting terroir and aging. The entrance monoliths, treated as ancient pylons. The "Hall of Distinguished Individuals" is a path to recognizing and celebrating the people who improve the world around us. "The Legacy" is a space to delve deeper into the heritage we have received and must pass on.
Matarromera Winery is situated on privileged land. Nestled in the Duero Valley, between the towns of Olivares and Valbuena de Duero, lie the vineyards from which Matarromera produces its wines, vintage after vintage.
Over 160 hectares of almost white, calcareous soils, where the Tempranillo grape expresses itself with total elegance, are the starting point for the magic of winemaking. A small proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot also help the winemaking team achieve unique nuances, legendary tones, and unforgettable sensations.
Always accompanied by the murmur of the Duero River, and sheltered by the pine forests of Castile, the grapes of the Ribera del Duero grow strong, painting an idyllic landscape. It is this land that, with the help of humankind, brings forth its ancient wisdom, its full potential of aromas and flavors, and its ability to endure in the memory of all who have the privilege of tasting its fruit.
