DESCRIPCIÓN

To make DoubleWood, David Stewart MBE takes whiskey that has spent at least 12 years in traditional whiskey casks, American oak casks from Spanish oak ex-Oloroso sherry for a further nine months.

The whiskey is then transferred to large oak vessels called "casks" for 3-4 months to allow the whiskeys in the individual casks to "marry".

Balvenie DoubleWood Single Malt Whiskey gains its distinctive character by maturing two different types of wood. Each stage gives different qualities to the resulting single malt whiskey.

Traditional casks soften and add delicate character, sherry wood adds depth and fullness of flavor and the final months in our vats allow the whiskeys to marry harmoniously.
