DESCRIPCIÓN
“25 Years in Barrels” was born in 1997, the year José Pariente harvested his last grapes. His daughter Victoria has aged this wine for 25 years in barrels, demonstrating the aging potential of the Verdejo variety. 25 YEARS OF BARREL AGING
Vineyard: The grapes come from a single vineyard dating back to 1943, located on the El Portugués plateau in Rueda. Planted in the traditional bush vine system and growing on quartzite pebble soils, the vines yield approximately 5,000 kilos per hectare. The harvest took place in 1998, with the grapes being hand-selected and transported in baskets.
Production: After spontaneous fermentation in 500-liter oak barrels, the wine has remained in those same barrels for 25 years. This 25-year aging process involves a slow loss of water, resulting in a continuous concentration. The wine gradually gains complexity, structure, and elegance.
