This herbal liqueur of French origin contains 27 plants and spices in its recipe. In 1510 at the Fecamp Abbey of the Benedictine order in Normandy, a monk named Dom Bernardo Vincelli developed the recipe for an aromatic elixir.
The recipe is a highly protected trade secret that is only known to three people.
