DESCRIPCIÓN
The PEGASUS BAY Encore Noble Riesling 2017 is one of the most unique and complex expressions in the Pegasus Bay portfolio, conceived as a limited-edition wine and produced only in the best vintages. It comes from old vines cultivated without irrigation on the slopes of the Waipara Valley in North Canterbury, a region blessed with a cool, dry climate, ideal for the development of Botrytis cinerea (noble rot).
This "noble harvest" is characterized by a careful selection of grapes affected by botrytis, which concentrate their natural sugars and flavors without losing acidity. The result is an intensely aromatic wine with a smooth texture, balance, and extraordinary aging potential. It is only produced in years where the morning humidity and afternoon drying conditions allow for the controlled development of botrytis, as occurred in 2017, an exceptionally favorable vintage.
The winemaking process is carried out with meticulous care, employing a slow and controlled fermentation to preserve varietal purity, the expression of the noble grape, and the natural balance between sweetness and freshness. The name “Encore” reflects its special and limited nature, like an encore at a concert: something extraordinary that occurs outside the regular program, reserved only for the most outstanding moments.

Es intensamente aromático y complejo. Se despliegan capas de albaricoque seco, mango confitado, piel de naranja, membrillo y miel, todo envuelto en delicadas notas de botrytis noble como cera de abejas, azafrán y flores secas. Aparecen también matices de especias suaves y una mineralidad sutil.
