The winery was founded in 1984 by Gregorio García Álvarez and continued by his daughters Yolanda and Carolina García Viadero; Valduero was one of the first bottling wineries in the Ribera del Duero region.

The winery is based on a Deep respect for the terroir, low-yield estate vineyards and traditional practices combined with modern precision.

Currently, it has around 140 hectares of Tempranillo (Tinto Fino) vineyards and 12 hectares of Albillo Mayor, a native white variety that Valduero has promoted internationally.
